(20 unread) - jgfuneral - Yahoo Mail   Anita L. Altman Smail Leechburg Anita Louise Altman Smail, 74, of Leechburg, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013. Born Nov. 22, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Jay and Nora (Cole) Altman. Anita retired in 1999 from Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge plant. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan, her favorite pass time was her grandchildren. Anita loved family gatherings and going shopping. She is survived by four sons, James (Colleen) Beatty, of Butler, William Beatty, of Leechburg, Robert Beatty, of New Kensington, and Ken Beatty, also of New Kensington; a daughter, Carol (Richard) Engler, of Vandergrift; one brother, Wayne (Ruth) Altman, of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Carol Lawrenzi, of Lowber, and Janet (Robert) Reese, of Apollo; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Smail; a son, Wayne Beatty; and a sister, Diane Nuchols. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at JANETTE L. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME INC., 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690, 724-567-7006, where a service will take place after visitation at 8:30 p.m. Elder Jeremiah Williams will be officiating
