Bessie Virginia Downing, 88, of Leechburg, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016. She was a daughter of the late Elsie (Courson) and Peter Downing. She was employed as a supervisor at Farmers Delight Dairy and resided there for more than 50 years. A former member of the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, formerly in Oklahoma, Bessie enjoyed walking with her nieces and nephews and loved the outdoors. She spent a lot of time working and was dedicated to the dairy farm. Bessie is survived by a brother, Daniel Downing, of Kiskimere; sister, Maybelle (Charles) Reichenbaugh, of Apollo; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence, Robert, Claude and Chester Downing; sister, Elsie Dudek, and twin sister, Dessie Held.
