Betty Louise (Kunkle) Burkett Nicholson, 84, of Elderton passed away Monday September 25, 2017 at West Haven Manor surrounded by her family. Betty was born November 17, 1933 and the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Chirsty) Kunkle. She was employed by Reboards Paints factory, a nurses aid for the VNA in Paulton, and a taxidermist. Betty was known for her outgoing personality, she enjoyed fishing and gardening, but most of all she loved to laugh, have some wine and make beautiful memories with her family and friends. Betty had a gift for loving life and she chose to instill that in her grandchildren. They were her life, she laughed and smiled because of them. She is survived by her husband Donald Nicholson of Elderton, a son Rodger (Betsy) Burkett of Parks Township, two daughters Susan (Greg Retter) Kepple of Vandergrift, Loretta Nicholson of Elderton, Four grandchildren Jeremy (Angela) Burkett of Harrisburg, Lindsey (Brandon) Dupinsky of West Virgina, Jesse (Edward) Reiss of Kittanning, Tara Smith of Ford City, Seven Great Grandchildren, Harley, Justin, Brooke, Jackson, Paige, Brice, Jaxson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a son William Burkett, a grandson Kent (Dink) Smith, a granddaughter Tiffany Burkett, eight brothers Todd, William, George, Charles, Daniel, Jake, Eric, and Rodger Kunkle and one sister Dorothy Boyle. Family and Friends will be received on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Saturday a service at 11:00 am at The Janette L.
