Carl M. Kostelansky Sr., 92, of Parks Township passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was born April 30, 1929, in North Vandergrift, and the son of the late Matus and Mary (Bak) Kostelansky. Carl was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. An officer for thirteen years. Retired from Kiski Area School in 1994 after fourteen years in the maintenance Department and was employed for 30 years by Farmers Delight Dairy. He was a life member of the VFW Post 566 in Vandergrift and life member of DAV. Carl enjoyed yard work, hunting, maintenance around the house, and loved to feed the deer, birds and turkeys. He is survived by his three daughters: MaryAnn (David) Miller, Susan (Thomas) Armagost, and Carol (James) Malivuk, a son Carl Kostelansky Jr., eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Elsie (Hines) Kostelansky in 1996, four brothers: Joe, Paul, William, and Edward, his second wife Shirley (Pifer) Kostelansky in 2016, and a daughter in law Nancy. Family and Friends will be received on Sunday October 17, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Monday October 18, 2021 at 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at The Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc. 2842 River Road Vandergrift, Pa (724) 567-7006 with Rev. Jerry Gardner and nephew, Pastor Chris Kostelansky. Interment will take place at Brookland Cemetery in Leechburg, with full Military Honors conducted by the Vandergrift Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a local animal shelter.
