Charles "Ray" Crooks, 96, of Apollo went to be with the Lord Thursday July 20, 2017. He was born October 24, 1920 and the Son of the late Charles and Viola (Jones) Crooks. Charles was a member of the Kiski Valley Presbyterian Church in Allegheny Township and in his earlier days he was President of the Oklahoma Borough Counsel. He was employed as a payroll master at Wean United Foundry in Vandergrift. Charles was a handy man who enjoyed fixing and maintaining his home. In his spare time Charles also enjoyed reading, bird watching, and gardening but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by three daughters Linda Jackson of Apollo, Pamela Crooks of Apollo, and Charlane Wirick of Parks Township. Three grandchildren Troy (Angie) Jackson of West Leechburg, Tricia (Jeff) Larkin of Leechburg and Michael (Angela) Wirick of Pine Richland. Four great grandchildren Kylie Jackson, Tory Jackson, Dylan Rossi and Brett Rossi. In addition to Charles parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years E. Mildred Crooks, three brothers Richard, Robert, and William Crooks, a sister Phyllis Bibza, a great-grandson Noah Wirick, and two son-in-laws Albert Jackson and Tim Wirick.
