Claramarie
Dentu
March 22, 1966 – January 23, 2026
Abena ClaraMarie Kolibea Dentu, 59, of Salina, and originally born in Ghana, passed away on January 23, 2026. She was born on March 22, 1966, and was the daughter of the late Jacob and MaryAnn Dentu.
ClaraMarie was a woman whose life was rooted in love, generosity, and creativity. She cherished her family deeply and found joy in cooking, baking with her grandson Greg, her coloring correspondence with her granddaughter Melody, tending to her houseplants, working in her garden, thrifting, crafting with her daughter Ciara, and road-trips with her kids. She had a compassionate heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.
She was a graduate of Montgomery College, where she earned her paralegal degree. ClaraMarie later started her own business, Making Memories, a reflection of her passion for crafting, alongside her daughter and in memory of her mother. She proudly served as a Girl Scout leader for twenty years and was honored with a volunteer award for her dedication.
Her beloved cat, Merlot, was her constant companion and emotional support. ClaraMarie lovingly called Merlot her "babykins", and spent her day loving and caring for him and her other kids.
ClaraMarie would want her life to be celebrated with joy, and she would want everyone to wear her favorite color, blue.
She is survived by her daughters, Ciara (Adam Jones) Reed of Vandergrift and Racheal Sherwood of Leechburg; her sons, Michael (Stacey) Reed of Cheswick and adopted son William (Kayla Johnston) Sipe of Hyde Park; her brothers, Jacob Dentu of Maryland and Salvatore (Tisha) Dentu of Virginia; her five grandchildren: Melody Reed, Liam Groff, Logan Groff, Greg Sipe, and Novalee Sipe; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her dearest friends and loved ones, Kristina Keller, Michael Reed (Senior), and many others.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the time of service at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc., 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690, 724‑567‑7006.
