David McCracken, who was born on April 16, 1943, passed away on September 17, 2026.

David will be remembered as a man who valued family, service, hard work, and the pursuits he loved most.

David will be remembered as a man who valued family, service, hard work, and the pursuits he loved most. A graduate of Leechburg High School, he went on to serve his country as a United States Army veteran. He was also employed with Kalmar Motors, Ravotti Chevrolet in his earlier years,  then he retired at ATI Bagdad Plant with 43 years as an  Electrical motor inspector.

Outside of work, David enjoyed a wide range of interests that brought him great satisfaction over the years. He loved antique guns and muzzle loaders, and he enjoyed hunting. He had a special affection for his dogs, Shena and Sam. He also found excitement in drag racing at Lernerville and Blakethill raceways, and he liked working on cars. A devoted Pittsburgh sports fan, he could often be found cheering on the Steelers and the Pirates.

Most of all, David’s life was centered on those he loved. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Remaley McCracken, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He is also survived by his sons, Cole McCracken, Sean McCracken, and Jesse (Diane Biernacki) McCracken; by his daughters-in-law, Elizabeth McCracken and Shannon McCracken; and by his sisters, Mary Ryan and Jane (Grady) Lockhart. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Brandi, Jesse, Jazmine, Gabby, Ema, and Lyndsey, as well as three great-grandchildren and numerous niece and nephew's and cousins all of whom were part of the family he cherished.

David was preceded in death by his father, Jess McCracken; his mother, Ruth Chickar McCracken; and his brother-in-law, John “Skeeter” Ryan.

David McCracken will be remembered with love by his family and by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the many moments of joy he brought to those around him.
