Dean Walker, 76, of Apollo passed away March 10, 2016.  He was born November 20, 1939 in Bell Township.  He was the son the late Peck Hughes and Bernadine (Schaeffer) Walker and he was married to Carolyn (Slomka) Walker for 52 years.  Dean retired from Allegheny Ludlum West Leechburg Plant after 27 years of employment and is a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a graduate of Vandergrift High School, a member of Saint Gertrude's Parish, and The American Legion in Vandergrift.  Dean enjoyed fishing for many years, but his true love was his family.  Survivors include his Wife Carolyn (Slomka) Walker of Apollo, two Sons Joseph Walker of Pittsburgh and Charl (Linda) Walker of Fawn Township, a Daughter Heather (Ed) Slepsky of Charlotte North Carolina, two Grandchildren Dustin and Chelsea, and two Great Grandchildren Blake and Cameron.  Dean is preceded in death by his sister Kim (Walker) Marsonetti and two Brothers Dave and Gerald Walker. Family and Friends will be received on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc. 2842 River Road Vandergrift, PA 15690.
