Delores Shellhammer ,81, of Vandergrift passed away in her home on August 17th 2021 in the care of hospice and her children after loosing her battle with cancer. She was born on August 20, 1939. Delores devoted her life to caring for others, working in the health care field in personal care for over 40 years before her retirement. She enjoyed coloring books, crossword puzzles, reading, looking at pictures and eating. She was an avid yard sale hunter and thrift store shopper, she never came home empty handed. Dee Dee loved the holidays especially Christmas, leaving her trees up all year decorated for all of the holidays. Most of all Delores loved her family and friends more than anything. She loved to give to others and find places for "her things" she picked up on her adventures either to the stores or yard sales. She was the best mother, grandmother, and friend anyone could ask for. Nothing was ever more important to her than her children and the ones she loved, Dee Dee was a kind caring soul that would help anyone in need. Delores was a jokester, she loved to make people smile and give them a good laugh. If you knew Dee Dee you probably seen her signature dance and heard her sing a song or two. Delores was a woman of faith, attending mass every Saturday evening at St Gertrude Parish in Vandergrift her entire adult life. Delores was proceeded in death by her parents Paul and Milred Rybarick, Granddaughter Heather Lynn Frick, Brothers Laird, Ralph, Bill, Jim, Tom Rybarick and sister Shirley Rybarick. Dee Dee will be greatly missed by her Daughter Karen and Husband Steve Frick. (Apollo), Son Ted Shellhammer and Wife Becky Shellhammer (Allegheny Township) Granddaughter Michelle Frick (Greensburg), Grandson Travis Shellhammer (Allegheny Township) and many of nieces, nephews and friends.
