Dennis E. Rhodes, 68, of Apollo, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013. He was born Oct. 8, 1944, in North Vandergrift, the son of the late Clarence "Chuck" and Garnet (Neal) Rhodes. Dennis was a 1962 graduate of Vandergrift High School. He retired from Allegheny Ludlum, West Leechburg Plant, and was a veteran of the Army. He was an avid sports enthusiast, loved the outdoors, traveling to Lake Tahoe with his wife and best friend, Rennie, and volunteered for many church gatherings and functions. Dennis loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Dennis is survived by his wife, Rennie (Grim) Rhodes, of Apollo; one son, Sean (Carrie) Rhodes, of Ohio; a godson, Jayson R. Kliment, of California; his mother-in-law, Betty Grim, of Apollo; and his best friends, Larry (Debbie) Linkes, of Leechburg, and Ralph (Betty) Maskrey, of Apollo. Dennis had a heart of gold and his smile and laughter will forever be in our hearts. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the JANETTE L. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.  Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church in Monroeville with Pastor Rob Marrow officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cross Roads Vacation Bible School, 2310 Haymaker Road, Monroeville, PA 15146.
