Doris Mitchell, 82, of Apollo passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023. She was born on July 13, 1940, and the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Harris Burkett. Doris was a member of the ladies' auxiliary and was often gardening or making crafts. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends while sitting on her porch on a sunny day. Doris and her husband loved to travel to Arizona and flea markets. Her true joy was her grandchildren, they held a special place in her heart. Doris loved to watch them become everything she imagined they could be. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Doris is survived by her three daughters: Deborah Tallerico of New Kensington, Clarissa (Jerry Roberts) Mitchell of Apollo, and Gayle Mitchell of Apollo; her son, Walter Mitchell of Apollo; two sisters, Barbara Fisher of Butler and Sandra (Chuck) Momberger of Sarver; four grandchildren: Kayla Dailey, Kendra Mitchell, Jamie Tallerico, Sammie Tallerico; seven great-grandchildren: Christopher, Aubrey, Camdyn, Joey, Karly, Tony, and Tori; one great-great-grandchild, Venus; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, David Mitchell; her son, James David Mitchell; and five brothers: Robert, Daniel, David, William, and George.
