Doris J. Scott, 81, of Vandergrift passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023. She was born on September 10, 1942, and the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Randolph) Jackson. Doris attended Apollo High School then settled in Vandergrift where she proudly raised her family.

Doris enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, and spending time with her family. She loved the holidays and bringing people together. Doris was the neighbor and relative you could count on to lend a listening ear. Her door and arms were always opened.

Doris is survived by her two sons, Charles (Stacey) Scott of Vandergrift and Freeman Woody of Vandergrift; her brother, Mickey (Marcelette) Jackson of Louisiana; her sister, Victoria Goins of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren: Enzo, Ameria, Ahkeim, Maxwell, Bradey, Karter, and Logen; and one great-grandchild; Bae-Lynn.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Scott and sister, Kimberly Tipton.

Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home, Inc. 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690. (724) 567-7006., and Friday, December 15, 2023, at the New Life Baptist Church of Apollo from 5:00 pm until the service at 6:00 pm with Pastor April Bell officiating.
