Dorothy J. Furlong, 85, of Vandergrift passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022. She was born on February 12, 1937, and the daughter of the late Clayton and Thelma (Briggs) Shaner. She was a graduate of Leechburg High School then retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company. Dorothy enjoyed reading, watching her favorite television show, Jeopardy, and solving puzzle books. She loved spending time with family, especially, her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Jo Isaacson of Avonmore, Mary Petrella (Duane Baker) of Vandergrift; two sons, Glenn Brunelle of Pittsburgh and Rich (Lisa) Klingensmith; two sisters, Mary Lou Sabo (Bob) of Hyde Park and Mable Desrosiers (Bob) ;eight grandchildren: Shannon, Kelly, Crystal,Kayla, Kristen, Laura, Carrie,Matt; and ten great-grandchildren: Hayley, Abby, Ellie, Charli, Aiden, Xander, Emmett, Johnny, and Jimmy and April.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband John Furlong, her son Clifford Klingensmith, grandson, Mario Petrilla; two sisters, Shirley and Cressie; and her brother, Blaine.
