Edward J. Lorent, 83, of Vandergrift passed away on January 23, 2023. He was born on December 23, 1939, and was the son of the late Emil and Margaret (Taylor) Lorent. He attended Blacks Hollow Church of God and was once employed by Burrell Construction, LLC. before retiring. Ed's favorite pastimes were collecting treasures and socializing with friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, sightseeing, spending time with his family, and dog-sitting his friends' pets: Eddie and Princess.

Ed is survived by his son, Edward (Sandy) Lorent of Saltsburg; two daughters, Lois Jean (Johnson) Carney, of Kepple Hill and Crystal Lorent of Leechburg; two grandchildren, Kayla Lawrence and Brandon Fairman; two brothers, Wayne (Carol) Lorent of Spring Church and Ronald Lorent of Ford City; two sisters, Rose (Ronald) Bowser of North Carolina and Gloria Hayes of Natrona Heights; and his companion, Sylvia.

In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille (Weister) Lorent; his sister, Cathy; and eight brothers: Walter, Tommy, Victor, LeRoy, Robert, Frank, Walter, William, and Arthur.

Family and Friends will be received for a visitation on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home 2842 River Road Vandergrift, PA 15690. A service will be on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 11:00 am with Pastor Scott Fairman officiating.
