Gary H. Sturgill, 73, of Vandergrift was surrounded by his family when he went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on September 1, 2022. He was born on December 8, 1948 and was the son of the late Lacy H. and Doris J. (Smith) Sturgill. Gary was a graduate of Wilmington, Delaware High School and a member of The Church of God, Kittanning. Gary retired from Tru-Lite Glass Co., in Cheswick, in 2011 and spent much time enjoying his Harley Davidson motorcycle, as well as going hunting. Most of all, he cherished his time with family and friends, especially the great-grand babies. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Arlene F. (Fennell) Sturgill of Vandergrift, his daughter, Regina Arlene Sturgill, Vandergrift, eight grandchildren, Laykin Arlene (Jesse) Houston, Gary Christopher (Olivia) Sturgill, Heather (Tucker) Bell, Christina (Derek) Rau, Denise (Jordan) Lorent, Randy (Maggie) Sturgill, Alexis (Bill) Celender and Lacey A. Sturgill, two sisters, Deborah J. Wills and Deanna G. Nichols; and one brother, Stanley D. Sturgill, Delaware, one daughter-in-law, Stephanie Rau and 13 great-grandchildren, each of which made Gary's eyes light up when he looked at them.

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his son, James C. Sturgill and his brother, Michael Sturgill.

A memorial celebration will take place at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, family only requests your love and prayers be made for the family.
