Harold R. Smith 85 of Parks township went to be with our lord on Thursday May 8, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born May 31, 1928 and the son of  Raymond and Hazel (Riggle) Smith.   A lifetime resident of the community and a 1946 graduate from Leechburg high School.  Harold was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean war.  He worked at West Leechburg Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. where he retired in 1988 after 40 years of service.  In his later years he enjoyed traveling and doing his own carpentry work, loved to sit on his porch where friends and family would stop to visit.  Survivors include his wife of 37 years Vivian (Gamble) Schultz Smith of Parks twp. three daughters Debra Bizjak of Oakdale Pa, Lucinda (Lawrence) Macklin of New Kensington, Donna (Jack) Weber of Ohio,  a son Harold E. (Karen) Smith of Ohio,  a step son Albert  (Julie) Shultz of Maryland, a  step daughter Sandra (Maurice)  Herbert of Virginia,  a sister Lois Jane (Clair)  Walker of Parks Twp. , a step son in law Allen Yonek of Leechburg.  Fourteen grandchildren and  nine great grandchildren.   In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son in law Frank Bizjak, and a step daughter Judy Yonek.  Harold had a heart of gold and his smile and stories will be greatly missed.  Friends and Family will be received on Monday May 12, 2014 from 2-4 pm. and 6-8 pm. and on Tuesday May 13 from 10 am. till time of service at 11 am. at The Janette L. Gamble Funeral home Inc. 2842 River Road Vandergrift, Pa 15690  724-567-7006  with Pastor Rick Gamble officiating .  Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery. Family and Friends are being received on Monday May 12 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. and on Tuesday May  13 from 10 am.  til time of service at 11 am.  interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery.
