Henry D. Ciuca 82, of Parks Township, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, from Parkinson's disease. He was born May 6, 1932, in Vandergrift, the Son of the late Ferdinand G and Lena A.M. Schnorfeil Ciuca. He graduated from Vandergrift High School in 1950 with high honors. He served in the Army for three years, two years in Japan, and was employed at Allegheny Ludlum for 43 years, retiring in 1994. He is survived by his lovely wife of 58 years, Carol Crosby Ciuca; four sons, Douglas (Liz) Ciuca and Ray Ciuca, both of Vandergrift, Richard (Laura) Ciuca, of Leechburg, and Robert Ciuca, of Apollo; grandchildren, Gina Ciuca, of Tarentum, Joshua and Roxanna Ciuca, of Vandergrift, Stephen Ciuca, of Vandergrift, Lindsey Ciuca, Robbie Ciuca and Ryan Ciuca, all of Apollo, Jesse Ciuca, of Washington Township, John (Tara) Demmer and Alicia (Josh) Cannon, both of Kingsley, Pa., Erika and Brendan Kelley, of Pittsburgh, and Aaron and Kelly Ciuca, of Vandergrift; great-grandsons, Liam Kelley and Finnegan Kelley and Colson Kelley, of Pittsburgh; great-granddaughter, Liliana Ciuca, of Vandergrift; a brother, Fred and Larue Ciuca, of Vandergrift; one sister, Joyce Ciuca Cole, of Johnstown; also several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte Ciuca Lemon and Alice Ciuca Martin; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Demmer; and a nephew, Charles Martin Jr.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at the JANETTE L. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME INC., 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690, 724-567-7006. Additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at the High Field Lutheran Church, Dime Road, Vandergrift, with Pastor Arter officiating.
