Julia Pitel 68 of Leechburg passed away Friday, April 4, 2014.  She was born September 18, 1946 and the daughter of the late Mike and Pauline (Panfil) Pitel. Julie was a member of the Vandergrift Salvation Army and a avid sports fan , she enjoyed watching the Steelers,  Pirates and Penguins games, her favorite pass time was knitting, puzzle books and listening to music.  She had a heart of gold and always had a smile for everyone.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters Wanda Brown, Anna Pitel, Stella Rosensteel, and a brother William Pitel, a nephew Clyde Brown and two nieces Christine Brown and Cora Pitel.  Julie is survived by three children, two sisters Helen Matarrese and Cora (Ronald) McVicker both of Ohio, a brother Joseph Pitel of Home PA, several nieces and nephew.  Arrangements have been entrusted to The Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc 724-567-7006.  At the requests of family, there will be no visitation.
