Laura (Moon) Barrette, of Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013. She was born April 14, 1965, the daughter of Irene Moon and the late LeRoy Moon Sr. Laura taught physical education at the Hamilton Acres Baptist Church in Fairbanks. Laura loved spending time with her family, friends, church and traveling home to see her family. She loved the outdoors, hunting with her husband and son and getting involved with her daughter's activities in school and church. She graduated from Kiski Area High School in 1984 and enlisted in the Army from 1986 to 1990. Laura is survived by her husband of 25 years, Alan Barrette; three beautiful children, Jacob Barrette, McKenzie Barrette and Ashley Barrette, all still at home; her mother, Irene Moon, of North Apollo; four brothers, Robert Moon, of Upper Burrell, Ken (Lynne) Moon, of Clairton, John (Eleanor) Moon, of North Versailles, and LeRoy (Judy) Moon Jr., of Brunswick, Ga.; and eight sisters, Sharon (Walt) Loughner, of North Versailles, Linda (Bob) Howell, of Apollo, Diane (Jim) Fry, of Avonmore, Peggy (Tim) Kearns, of Apollo, Edna (Tim) Greg, of Las Vegas, Nev., Mickey (Dale) Foster, of Henderson, Nev., Karen (Bob) Johnson, of Las Vegas, Sandy Moon, of North Apollo; 71 nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Moon Sr. "Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, in Fairbanks, Alaska, at Hamilton Acres Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Hamilton officiating. Services for Laura in Pennsylvania will be held via webcam live from Alaska at the Masonic Hall, 118 Allan St., Lower Burrell, PA 15068, 724-448-7410 or 412-861-3229.
