Mary (Krapko) Liska, 87, of Apollo, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013. She was born April 16, 1926, the daughter of the late Steven and Ruth (Dwyer) Krapko. Mary was a World War II veteran of the Army. She loved gardening, sewing, reading her newspaper and cooking for her family. Mary had worked at Schenley Distillery. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Schrecengost (James Ferrington), of Apollo; two grandchildren, Aaron Schrecengost (Cathy Mack), of Apollo, Brandy (Shane) Martin, of Blairsville; and a sister, Bertha (John) Cane, of Vandergrift. She is preceded in death by two infant sons, Daniel Brook and Joseph Liska; four brothers, Steven, Donald, John and Eugene Krapko; and a sister, Mildred (Betty) Shedlock. "There will be a visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating at the JANETTE L. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME INC., 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690, 724-567-7006. Burial will take place at Saltsburg Cemetery."
