Fry
November 26, 1978 – July 29, 2024
Mathew James Fry, 45, of New Kensington passed away suddenly on July 29, 2024. He was born on November 26, 1978 and was the son of James and Diane (Moon) Fry. Matt was a 1998 Graduate of Kiski Area High School. He was a man of many passions and talents, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Whether he was out in the woods hunting, perfecting his aim with archery, or enjoying the thrill of shooting guns and handling explosives, Matt found joy in the great outdoors. His love for nature extended to animals, and he had a special way of connecting with them.
One of Matt's unique talents was his ability to critique movies. He was the go-to person for film recommendations, always providing insightful and entertaining reviews. Matt was also a dedicated and hardworking individual. As a self-employed entrepreneur, he ran his own construction business with pride and skill. He was a passionate supporter of Donald Trump, and he wasn't shy about expressing his views. But above all, Matt cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. Family was at the heart of everything he did and made sure to create lasting memories with them.
Matt is survived by his mother, Diane (Moon) Fry of Avonmore; his brother, Michael Fry of Kepple Hill; two nieces, Priscilla and Penelope Fry; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his dog, Katana.
He is preceded in death by his father, James L. Fry; his grandparents: Frank and Naomi (Penvose) Fry and Leroy and Irene (Beyler) Moon; his sister-in-law, Chrystal Fry; three uncles: John Moon, Robert Howell, and Walter Loughner; and two aunts, Laura Barrette and Lynne (Howell) Moon.
