Myrna Fitzgerald, a beloved mother, sister, and devoted companion, passed away on May 25, 2026, at St. Mary Hospital. Born on November 1, 1953, Myrna lived a life enriched by her passions and the love of her family and friends. Those who knew her will remember her as an avid bowler who embraced the outdoors—finding joy in gardening, fishing, and camping.

In recent years, Myrna faced health challenges that tested her strength, yet her spirit remained resilient. She spent her final year residing in Hyde Park with her significant other, Steve Couturiaux, and his mother, Dixie—both of whom lovingly cared for her during this time. Fulfilling one of her last wishes, Myrna had the opportunity to visit camp with family in St. Marys, a place dear to her heart.

Myrna is survived by her significant other, Steve Couturiaux; three sons, Larry Naccarato, Anthony Naccarato, and Greg Sowinsky; two sisters, Rose (Bud) Flatt Penvose and Clema (Arlan) Flatt Martin; a brother, Steve Flatt; as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind twelve cherished grandchildren Brandon, Noah, Anibell, Perrine, Franky, Vincent Couturiaux, TJ, Justi Naccarto,, Breanna, Brandon Gamble, Calab, Catelyn Sowinsky who brought much joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gwen Burd, her stepfather, Kenneth Burd, a nephew, Donald Yoho Jr., and her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Wagner.

A visitation to honor Myrna’s memory will be held on May 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home, located at 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are welcome to attend and celebrate her enduring legacy.

Myrna Fitzgerald’s life was marked by her love of nature and family, the warmth she shared, and the indelible mark she leaves on all who were fortunate to know her. Her memory will be treasured by those who survive her and by the many who were blessed by her kindness and strength.
