Obituary

Nancy Jean Voyten,  67, of Parks Township, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, at her home with her loved ones by her side. She was a daughter of the late John A. and Virginia (Bell) Smith and a graduate of Leechburg High School. A graduate of Citizens School of Nursing in New Kensington, she retired from West Havin Nursing Home after 24 years of employment. Nancy loved family gatherings, sewing, gardening, baking and spending time with her dogs, Lucy and Rusty, and her granddogs, Mocha and Bayley Jo. Nancy is survived by her daughters, Laurie A. Voyten (formerly Joyner), of Parks Township, Mary C. Voyten, of Pittsburgh, Leah R. Voyten (formerly McDermott), of Kiski Township, and Gwen L. (Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jeffery) Toy, of Parks Township; seven grandchildren, Ethan Joyner, Colin Joyner, currently deployed Marine Corps Lance Corporal Andrew McDermott, Miranda R. McDermott, Johnathon Toy, Logan Toy and Zachary Toy; one brother, Richard (Barbara) Smith, of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Judy (Theodore) Tarosky, of Vandergrift; and former spouse, John A. Voyten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emma Joyner. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Hebron Lutheran Church, in Leechburg, with Pastor Kevin Mackey officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to JANETTE L. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME INC., 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, 724-567-7006.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Hebron Lutheran Church, in Leechburg, with Pastor Kevin Mackey officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to JANETTE L. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME INC., 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, 724-567-7006.
