Paul Clinton Lipsie, 95 of Allegheny Twp. PA passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021, at home in the arms of his loving wife.
A son of Paul Hodges and Myrtle Eliza (Blewett) Lipsie, he was born in West Leechburg, PA, on December 30, 1925.
Paul graduated from Leechburg High School in 1943. He was employed as a metallurgist by Allegheny Ludlum in West Leechburg for over 38 years before retiring, and in post-retirement he worked as a consultant for AL in Shanghai, China, for 3 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vandergrift where he taught Sunday school; and sang in the choir for many years.
Paul was Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, Past Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O.E., Past President of the Gilpin Twp Fire Department, of the Fort Hand Rifle Club, and of the Christian Fellowship Sunday School at his church. He was a member of American Legion, the VFW., the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the Loyal Order of Moose. He served for 20 years on The Westmoreland County Selective Service board and as Chairman for 15 years.
Paul was an FAA licensed pilot, instructor, and mechanic. He proudly served in Europe in the 8th Air Force during World War ll. from 1943 to 1946. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved to entertain others with his stories of his military years and with his marvelous singing voice. Paul was an excellent marksman and enjoyed competitive shooting. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed boating, canoeing, and camping. Paul loved to travel and had visited many other countries.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-one years. Ying Lipsie of Allegheny Twp.., his daughter Paulette (Gary) Miller of Cranberry Twp., his son Craig (Terry) Lipsie of Kronenwetter, Wisconsin. Also surviving are his stepchildren Charlie Lipsie of Los Angeles, CA, Keith (Jacque) Kepple and Kelly (Joseph) Hirshika of Allegheny Twp., his grandchildren Craig (Debbie) Lipsie of Fayetteville. TN, Natalie Schmidt of West Leechburg, and his great grandchildren Mackenzie Lipsie and Aiden Schmidt. his step grandchildren Joseph & Aaron Hirshka, Venessa Kepple Housner, Amanda Kepple Garcia, Jordan Burt and Jared Kepple.
At Paul's request there will be no viewing or services. He will rest next to his parents and sister at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Leechburg.
