Rebecca Eileen Rodgers, 85, of North Apollo went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2024. She was born July 15, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Rebecca (Doutt) Klingensmith. Rebecca was a graduate of Vandergrift High School and was employed as a head secretary to the superintendent of the former Vandergrift School District Administration Building. She gave up her job to raise her five children while also continuing to volunteer and dedicate her time as a member and later as president for eight years of the Vandergrift VFW #566 Auxiliary. Rebecca was also President of Lower Burrell VFW #92 Auxiliary for 6 years, and a member of the Vandergrift Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting lap robes for veterans, and for 11 years she volunteered her clerical skills to the American Red Cross Mobile Blood drive Bank. She especially loved spending time with her family, baking and cooking for the holidays.

Rebecca is survived by three sons: Robert Rodgers Jr. of North Apollo, Ronald (Donna) Rodgers of Elizabeth Twp., and Russell Rodgers of West Tarentum; two daughters, Regina Faiola of Lower Burrell and Rebecca (Jay) Kennedy of Irwin; four grandchildren: Amy, Kayla, Faith, and James; and four great-grandchildren: Noel, Makenna, Brodhi, and Makayla.

In addition to her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Robert Rodgers Sr.; a son-in-law, Anthony Faiola; a grandson, Mark Faiola; one brother, Dean Klingensmith; and her sister, Dorothy Rigatti.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. An additional visitation will be held on April 5, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am, with Reverend Stephen Rigatti officiating at the Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc, 2842 River Road Vandergrift Pa 15690. Interment will be at the Vandergrift Cemetery. In leiu of flowers, please make a donation in honor of Rebecca to the Vandergrift V.F.W.
