Robert E. Rodgers, 89, of North Apollo passed away December 17, 2020. He was born on March 15, 1931, and the son of the late Frank and Blanche (Weimer) Rodgers. Bob was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and worked as a crane man for 30 years before retiring from the Vandergrift Foundry. He was a member of the Vandergrift Baptist Church, Slovak Club, and VFW Post 566. Bob enjoyed bird watching, canning tomatoes, gardening, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rebecca (Klingensmith) Rodgers of North Apollo; three sons: Robert Rodgers Jr. of North Apollo, Russell Rodgers of Leechburg, and Ronald (Donna) Rodgers of Harrisburg; two daughters, Regina (Jimmy) Daugherty and Rebecca (Jay) Kennedy of North Huntington; five grandchildren: Amy, Mark, Kayla, Faith, and James; and three great-grandchildren: Noel, Makenna, and Brodhi. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Francis (Pecks) Rodgers and Donald Rodgers and five sisters: Marie Claypole, Katherine Nadoli, Sarah Murray, Alice Corfutt, and Blanche Troup. Family and Friends will be received on Monday, December 21, 2020, at 4:00 pm with a Full Military Service by the Vandergrift Honor Guard at 5:00pm until the 6:00 pm service with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating at The Janette L.
