Robert Slicker, 80, of Vandergrift passed away Friday, December 18, 2015.  He was born June 23, 1935 on Longfellow Street in Vandergrift and was a lifelong member of the community.  Robert is the son of the late Leonard and Wilda Boyer Slicker.  Robert retired in 1994 from Allegheny Ludlum as a Dispatcher.  He was a veteran of United States Army and a 22 year member of the Vandergrift #2 Fireman's Association.  Bob enjoyed woodworking, camping, playing his guitar, singing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.  He is a member of Saint Pauls Highfield Lutheran Church, Parks Township.  Survivors include his wife of 50 years Mary Jane (McDermott) Slicker, 4 Daughters Tammy Moon of Vandergrift, Robin Slicker of Vandergrift, Rebecca (John) Ignatz of West Leechburg, Karen (Michael) Marangoni of Leechburg, a Son Albert "Skeeter" (Chris) Wells of Vandergrift, a Sister Patricia (Boyd) Shupe of Langhorne, 2 Brothers Ronald Slicker of Leechburg, Ernest (Sandy) Slicker of Pittsburgh, 11 Grandchildren Nicole, Tammy Lee, Jessica, Jennifer, Joe, Crystal, Greg, Nathan, Tyler, Dylan, Cody and 12 Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 2 Brothers Darl Slicker, Samuel Slicker and a Sister Wanda Slicker. Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc. 2842 River Road Vandergrift PA 15690,  (724) 567-7006 and on Tuesday from 10:00 am till the time of the service at 11:00 am at the St. Paul Highfield Lutheran Church in Parks Township, with Pastor Grance officiating.  In Lieu of flowers donations made be made to the St. Pauls Lutheran Highfield Church and Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.  Online Condolences may be made at Gamblefh.com.
