On December 19, 2023, the lives of Darlene (Pollock) Neil, Chrissy Smith, and Amy (Jerad) Miller were changed when their beloved husband and father, Ronald E. Neil (77), was called home by his heavenly father.

Ron/Ronnie was loved by all who met him. He always had a smile when someone said hello. He was a graduate of Blairsville High School. After 22 years at the Vulcan Mold and Iron Foundry of Latrobe, Ron worked at Babcock and Wilcox then the Oakbridge Academy of Arts, Newport Business, Career Training. He adored his wife, Darlene, of 52 years and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids, Matthew (Madalyn), Sam, Tyler, and Morgan. Ron was a collector of many things like Hot Wheels cars and coins, but his favorite pastime was relaxing in his chair, helping in the kitchen, and making his famous rigatoni.

Survivors also include his sister, Laura Stewart and brother, William (Chris) Petro.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Russel and Margaret (Bohovich) Neil-Petro; his grandparents; uncles; his brother, Frank Petro; and brother-in-law, Robert Stewart.

A memorial service will be held at The Orchard Church in Apollo on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 4:00 pm. 385 Kings Road, Apollo 15613. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
