Samuel Slicker 72 of Vandergrift passed away on Friday August 14, 2015, after complication from Multiple Myeloma (blood Cancer). He was born October 11, 1942 in Paulton, and the son of the late Leonard and Wilda (Boyer) Slicker. Sam was employed at Winn United until it closed. He was self employed with his sons as a dry-wall Finisher until his retirement. One of several jobs he finished was the Gamble Funeral Home, he was an artist of his trade. A man of many talents and a friend to all who knew him. He still continued to do small jobs keeping busy: he was not one to fully retire. Sam was a big Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He liked reading about politics, working in his vegetable garden, planting flowers, and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by two sons Leonard Richard Slicker and Samuel Robert Slicker both of Vandergrift, one daughter Laureen Lynn "Laurie" Slicker of Vandergrift, two granddaughters, Brittany R. Slicker of Ohio and Andrea M. Slicker of Pittsburgh, three brothers Robert L. (Mary) Slicker of Vandergrift, Ronald Slicker of Leechburg, Ernest (Sandy) Slicker of Pittsburgh, One sister Patricia (Bud) Shupe of Langhorne, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother Darl "Punch" Slicker and a sister Wanda Slicker.
Family and Friends will be received on Tuesday August 18, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8. and on Wednesday 10 am. till time of service at 11 am. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery Apollo PA
