Shannon Clark passed away on August 26, 2026, after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was born on August 24, 1964. and the daughter of the late William Painter and Kathleen Flynn. Shannon was a graduate of Kiski Area High School, she built a life centered on love, devotion, and quiet generosity. For twenty years, Shannon was employed as a custodian at Penn State New Kensington. She was known as a selfless person who always put everyone before herself. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and supported wholeheartedly. She attended all of their activities, sharing in their milestones, cheering them on, and making each one feel treasured. Shannon also found happiness in the simple pleasures that brought people together. She enjoyed traveling, cruises, camping, Bingo, races, bowling, and swimming. From time to time, she liked blowing off steam at the slot machines. Above all, she loved her husband of forty years, Harold, her soulmate, and the life they built together. She is survived by her beloved husband, Harold Clark of Washington Twp., her children, Joe Clark and his wife, Rebecca of Allegheny twp., Cory Clark of Washington twp., and Colleen Hodge and her husband, Jeremy of Vandergrift. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Abigail and Jack Clark, Richard Eicher; Jennavieve and Jeremiah Hodge Jr.; and Hayden Geary. She is also survived by her brothers, Kevin Painter of Shelocta, Aaron Painter of Florida, John Flynn of Indiana, and Shawn Flynn of South Carolina; her sister, Colleen Bruno and her husband, Tim, of Allegheny Township; and Nikole Varrato and her husband, Terry, of Apollo, many nieces and nephews. All who knew Shannon will remember the warmth she gave so freely and the love she poured into her family. She was preceded in death by her father, William Painter, and her mother, Kathleen Flynn. Family and friends will be received for visitation on August 30, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home, 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690. A funeral service will be held there on August 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Shannon’s life was marked by kindness, loyalty, and deep love for those closest to her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
