Shirley McCoy, born on October 27, 1949, in Rayburn Township, passed away at home surrounded by family on September 15, 2026.

Shirley lived a life centered on love, creativity, and devotion to those closest to her. She attended Kiski Area High School and went on to work for Corporate administration support roles at Giant Eagle and Wholeys then Later, she retired from her role as a nanny, a calling that reflected her caring spirit and the warmth she so naturally gave to others. She loved her family deeply and found joy in dancing, bringing lightheartedness and energy wherever she was. She also enjoyed crafts and painting ceramics, expressing her creativity in ways that will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her.

Her family was the heart of her life. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Dennis McCoy, her son, Gregory McCoy, and her daughter, Deanna Carlesi She is also lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Tracy, and her son-in-law, Scott . Shirley’s legacy continues through her grandchildren Dylan, Katelyn (Brendon), Gianna, Seamus, Aiden, Dante, and her great granddaughter Briar Ruth, each of whom brought pride and joy to her life. The love she gave so freely will remain a lasting gift to her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Gray; her mother, Elsie Mattews Gray; and her sisters, Linda Jackson and Carol Francis. Their memories remained part of Shirley’s life and story, and she now rests reunited with them.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on September 21, 2026, from m. to 700 p.m. at Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home, 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690. A memorial service will follow there from 800 p.m. withPastor Lee Rupert officiating.

Shirley will be remembered for her loving heart, her creative hands, and the happiness she found in family, dancing, and the simple beauty of time spent with those she loved most. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and in the family who will carry her love forward.
