Susan (Edens) Musselman, 76, formerly of Apollo passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023. She was born on October 2, 1946, and the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy (Leimbach) Edens. She was a graduate of Huguenot High School of Richmond, Virginia and furthered her education at Denison University of Granville, Ohio.

Susie was a beloved teacher at Kiski Area High School where she taught Junior/Senior English and Freshman Speech before retiring in 2007. She was an advisor for the Senior Class, the Drama Club, and member of the Junior League of Pittsburgh. As proven by her many achievements, including the honor of winning Teacher of the Year in 1989, Mrs. Musselman leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion for her students.

After retirement, Susie continued to work at the local hardware store and subbed in the school district for years. An active member of the church, she attended North Apollo Church of God and was an integral part of the North Lexington Baptist Church in North Carolina. She loved the outdoors, spending time with her family, time at the beach, and travel. Susie was highly respected in the community, an inspiration to many, and she will be missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues.

Susie is survived by her son, Gavin (Julie) Pratt of North Carolina; her two daughters, Lucy (Patrick) Ott of Ohio and Lauren Musselman of New York; nine grandchildren: Kyle, Riley, Olyvia, Jacob, Sophia, Joshua, Madelyn, Piper and Wyld; her brother, Walter "Sandy" (Diane) Edens of Colorado, her sister, Joanne (John) Theon of Virginia; and her beloved dog, Emi.

Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 3:30 to 7:00pm at The Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home, Inc. 2842 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690. (724) 567-7006. A service will take place at 11:00am on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the North Apollo Church of God with Pastor Bob Shallenberger officiating.
